Under the auspices of the Presidency of the Nineveh Governorate Council, and in a first step among the councils of Iraq's governorates, the East Gate Organization for Sustainable Development, which specializes in institutional development, research and studies, held a focused training workshop led by local government formation experts Engineer Aqeel Muslim and Engineer Raad Ahmed on: (Basic functions of local governments between responsibilities, powers and challenges) for ladies and gentlemen members of the Nineveh Governorate Council on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in Mosul.

A workshop on the use of artificial intelligence in managing clinics and medical complexes, in which engineer Anmar Shamil, a specialist in providing software solutions for medical clinics, and Dr. Safia Adeeb Ibrahim from the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Ashraf Abdel Moneim from the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics. The workshop discussed the role of artificial intelligence applications in improving the quality of medical services and the services accompanying artificial intelligence applications in order to facilitate communication with patients through these applications, the appropriate means of payment for purchasing artificial intelligence application services, and what a doctor needs to switch to using artificial intelligence applications in his work.

A workshop at the College of Pharmacy on developing medical logistics services and its impact on improving the efficiency of medical treatment, in which both M.D. participated. Rana Mumtaz Raouf from the College of Medicine, University of Mosul, Ahmed Salem Mahmoud from the Director of the Immediate Ambulance Division, and A.M.D. Adel Muhammad Al-Taie from the Department of Business Administration at the University of Mosul. The workshop addressed how the major shortage of ambulances can be filled, how the problem of the delayed arrival of ambulances due to traffic congestion can be solved, and the services that the private sector can provide in the field of transporting patients or transporting medicines in a healthy and safe manner. The possibility of providing mobile and home health services, and the limits of these services from a health perspective. The participants recommended the necessity of ensuring rapid access to ambulances by distributing ambulances to places distributed in various neighborhoods of the city. In addition to obligating private hospitals to provide a number of ambulances in order to fill the acute shortage of them in the city.

A workshop at the College of Dentistry on the importance of medical training on the use of modern devices. Eng. Amer Abdullah Jameel, from the Future Care Company for Medical Devices, Mosul branch, and A.M.D. participated in it. Muhammad Sabah Girgis from the Medical Syndicate, and Dr. Zaid Hisham Al-Sawaf from the Department of Medical Device Engineering at the Northern Technical University. The workshop addressed the most prominent challenges facing the use of modern devices in medical treatment, the importance of increasing the use of modern devices in medical treatment by doctors, and working to provide training on modern medical devices, in addition to Investing in purchasing modern medical devices and providing the necessary services accompanying the use of modern medical devices, as participants recommended the need to oblige medical device companies to train doctors in using modern devices within any contract to equip health institutions with them. In addition to equipping medical college laboratories with modern equipment used in teaching and training students.

The workshop discussed the development of preventive dental health care services, especially for young people and the elderly, the obstacles facing the use of modern devices in the field of dentistry, how private investment can be employed in developing dental services, and the importance of integrated dental complexes in increasing the possibilities of using modern devices. The participants recommended the necessity of cooperating with private clinics and medical complexes in training dental college students in exchange for providing customs exemptions on the medical devices they import and tax reductions.
